Julia Boehme lives as an artist and illustrator in Leipzig and likes to draw friendly characters that she places in all sorts of adventures while using different analogue techniques and mediums for her pictures, stories, posters or objects. They often turn out personal and poetic, often based on experiences, travels or playful reminiscences or homages to historic works and musical pieces that inspire her – processed in a comic way. She has mostly self-published her books or prints in small handprinted risography or silkscreen-print editions and takes part in exhibitions. When she doesn’t draw, she works as a graphic designer and printmaking teacher for kids and is also part of experimental-pop project Mellie.
